Discover Australia’s most spectacular and accessible underground wilderness. This is not the usual tourist trip, but if you thought the only sensible way to see Australia’s subterranean scenery was in a tourist “show cave,” think again. The exploration and appreciation of natural or “wild” caves is not exclusively the domain of “hard adventure” freaks.
Think about this!
We take people into some of Mole Creek’s famous beautifully decorated caves – in a catered, half- or full- day trip. The setting : ecologically active caves in a Tasmanian dairy farm landscape, framed by World Heritage wilderness of the Great Western Tiers, handy to Launceston, Devonport and Cradle Mountain.
Gone for the day are the concrete paths, the crowds and usual tourist traps. We take time to admire the beauty, the wildlife and to photograph. Try wading a stream cave to appreciate lofty glow-worm chambers and flute concert. Or jaunt through a honeycombed hill with varied challenges. The options are yours to choose. Beginners are welcome. Tour grade : easy to moderate.
Wild Cave Tours include minimal impact instruction and environmental interpretation. Your leader(s) are speleologists from the local caving club who have run Challenge by Choice caving trips since 1989. Clients range from seasoned international adventurers, to family groups, to grey nomads with expensive cameras looking for something “genuine.”
Individual/group enquiries are welcome. There are no set tour days. You can generate a booking with a minimum of two people. Please appreciate that trips at very short notice may be difficult, but it’s worth asking!
Now find out more on the Tours and Rates page. Then use the Bookings Menu for bookings, pre-trip essentials and to see some reviews to help your decision.
